Field visits to the renewable energy project to improve the quality of life in Yemen were concluded today. This project is a contribution from three parties: the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen, the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) |aand Silah Foundation for Development. These visits included 17 districts in five Yemeni governorates: Hadhramout, Abyan, Lahj, Taiz, and Hodeidah.
The project includes the construction of 200 solar energy systems; (12 solar systems) for water, (35 solar systems) for sustainable agriculture, (20 solar systems) for the operation of health and educational facilities and (33 solar systems). For lighting of homes belonging to poor families
The project management trained the field survey team and made coordination with local authorities, introducing donors and showing selection criteria, and visited the target sites with the consultancy agency
It is worth mentioning that this project will improve greatly the societal life and living standards of citizens through the use of renewable energy.
