In the presence of French ambassador to our country (Mr. Jean-Marie Safa), the representative of French Agency for International Technical Cooperation, Mr. Laurent Marion, and the local authority in the governorate represented by the Secretary-General of the Local Council, Saleh Al-Amqi, and the implementing partner, Selah Foundation ,Ali Bashamakh for signing the agreement for supporting the resilience of the fisheries sector to enhance food security project in Yemen in order to preserve the improvement of livelihoods, enhance food security and contribute to recovery after the crisis, funded by French Ministry of European Affairs and Foreign Affairs And implementing of French Agency for International Technical Cooperation “Experts of France” and Selah Foundation as an implementing partner in coordination with the General Authority for Fisheries in the Arabian Sea
The agreement includes the implementation of the project to improve food security and livelihoods for small fishermen, and aims at institutional building for the Mukalla Fishermen’s Cooperative, supporting fishermen with production assets and fishing equipment, holding training courses to rehabilitate fishermen to maintain quality and maintenance of fishing machines, and how to act in crises and disasters, and linking the association with others to aim of facilitating Marketing production towards providing a quality product that benefits fishermen and consumers
The French Ambassador, Mr. Jean-Marie. And the representative of France Experts Agency, Mr. Laurent Marion, expressed their happiness to visit Hadhramaut and inaugurate the project to support the fisheries sector, stressing the continuation of support in various sectors to recover from the effects of the war crisis
In turn, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Hadhramaut Saleh Al-Amqi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Ambassador of the friendly Republic of France, Mr. Jean-Marie Safa, for his presence and interest, in the context of the distinguished bilateral relations that link our country with Republic of France
